hi there, my boiler will only heat water when it is set to Winter (heat plus water). im loathe to replace it altho it is probably about 10 years old - it copes with the heating just fine and i cant believe there is anything serious wrong with it but as a girl living alone im scared id get ripped off by rogue tradesmen - does anyone have any advice, is this a common problem and how might it reasonably be fixed?

had the same proplem engineer has ordered a new flo switch hope this helps

I just realised you do have a combi boiler.... my guess is that you need a new diaphragm fitting to the water valve.

Hi Jo, unless you have a combi I doubt there is anything wrong with the boiler, do you have any electrically operated valves, (zone valves or 3 port diverter valve) also check to see if there is a thermostat on the hot water cylinder.
