zanussi aquacycle 1100 door light goes off and cuts out machine. is is a sensor problem?

door locks usually stop machine from starting up not cutting out machine.If you suspect it is the door lock you have to change it for a new one but might not be as straight forward as that??.More info on what it does before cutting out and what is on or off at this point might help diagnose further
