thinkpad 600E, USB connection is loose?

The USB port doesn't seem to recognize any external devices. Since it's sporadic, it appears that it's loose???

Slightly difficult to diagnose. One would be to re-install windows, to rule outs its not a software problem. If it still continues to not work, then it proberly is a fault with the USB ports - you dont mention if you have tried various external USB ports.

You can buy a PCMCIA usb card, to use has a workaround
