How to fix Florabest ratchiting branch trimmer?

I have a Florabest 42" ratcheting branch cutter that does not ratchet anymore. How do I get it to ratchet again?

I have a pair too, that won't ratchet. I took it apart and found two teeth broke off the ratcheting gear. It's made from a cast material that is a "weak spot". If your problem is the same, short of being able to buy and replace that gear, it's junk!
