The grill electrode on my Flavel Aspen only produces a spark when held very close to the grill plate. So small is the spark that it fails to ignite the gas. Is it likely to be the electrode, which seems fine, or the main unit at the other end of the electrode wire that's faulty? thanks for any help.

All sorted now - turned out the lead to the electrode had perished insulation and was shorting out to the cooker body.
