how to replace a fuel pump on a ford sierra 1.8lx 1992 model

1.8 engine fuel pumps:

If you have air con then you have an electric fuel pump close to the fuel tank. I don't know much about that variety of pump.

If you don't have air con then it is a mechanical pump operated by a pushrod off the cam shaft (back of engine). Also there is a gause fuel filter built into the fuel pump itself. There may also be a gause fuel filter on the carb where the fuel line attaches.

The push rods wear down over time. Order a new pushrod and gasket for the pump. These days the pushrod is a rare item and Ford dealers can obtain them from deepest Europe - but you have to push them to make a special order.
