Hotpoint ctd80 condenser dryer not turning on...PLEASE HELP!!!?

Hello I have a hotpoint ctd80 condenser dryer,I left the dryer on whilst I popped to the chemist to get my medication (I'm disabled so buying a replacement dryer sadly is out of my budget) and on return I found the dryer dead,no power at all and the clothes were still very damp inside,I've tried resetting the thermostat but there's no clicking when I push the pin into the hole,I've emptied filters, water, tested door locks, checked plug fuse and sockets, cleaned the machine inside and out (although it's pretty immaculate as it's not been used much at all),I sadly haven't got a multimeter at the moment but I'm guessing there's not many problems that can cause a complete cut off like this so any help or advice is greatly appreciated as I desperately need my dryer as my disability has gotten much worse and I fear I don't have much mobility left.
I found a couple of holes in the rubber and plastic tubes on the back of the dryer (I think they're to put the water into water tank to then be emptied but not sure as I can't seem to access the grey plastic box thing that's at the bottom of the tubes) I've taped these temporarily just to see if it made any difference but it sadly hasn't,still no power, nothing, nada, zilch, just thought I'd mention it though just in case it's relevant.
Thank you for taking the time to read my problem,I deeply appreciate it.
