Mini engine over reving?

Hi all, my daughters mini has started over reving, I don't believe it's the clutch as it only happens when changing gear, ie sometimes looses power over revs for 3/4 seconds then powers back in. Has anyone got any clues for me please.

May be sensor on flywheel ,sounds like sensor problem but there are 2or 3 that could give same symptons
