new motor for Frister rossman cub 4 where can I buy?

Where can i get a yamaha motor to replace one in my Frister and Rossman cub 4. It is an internal motor so can't buy a universal external one. Any one ever done this> Machine has power belt ok, well oiled machine, but needle does not move but just hums when pedal pressed. Thanks for any help

If the machine isn't siezed, then it sounds like one field coil is shot. The machine was named Cub in my part of the world. From experience I found it wasn't worth trying to replace a motor on any of the Cub series. The motor terminal sockets are brittle and prone to breaking as you work on them. Furthermore those machines are assembled in a complicated manner making them difficult to work on.

Thanks for the reply. Any suggestions what might be stopping the mechanism? Clutch seems to work with bobbin winder belt seems intact so I'm not sure what to do next. Can't afford to spend a fortune on it but it would be handy to take to classes.

The humming sound will be from the motor suggesting that the motor is good.

Something mechanical is stopping the mechanism from moving.
