Usually stretch belts on Fords so be aware there are tools you should use to put the fan belt back on.

There are dozens of videos on youtube about doing this - they're mostly American but no matter - the general idea will be much the same.

Are you sure that the alternator is bad or are you just taking the word of a passer-by?
