green light on boiler is flashing but when I turn water or heating on it sounds like it gonna fire up but everything is still cold

Do you have a little dial on your boiler that shows what the pressure is? If you do, the needle should be pointing somewhere between 1 and 2 bar. If the needle is pointing between 0 and 1, this will be the cause of the problem.
The system will need topping up, which you may be able to do yourself.
