my kettlle is relatively new , i put the switch down to put it on and the light came on and turned off after about ten seconds its a breville kettle mo no vkt119

This is not a difficult diagnosis - you probably have a suspicion that the heating element has failed - there is no other explanation. There is no possible chance of a repair.
