Kenwood kettle SMJ610 base lights up but kettle doesn't boil?

My kettle is out of warranty, is it possible to be repaired?

When it is plugged in, the base lights come on but it doesn't show any signs of life. It is a fairly new model and still looks like new. It was a Xmas present and don't want to through away if it can be repaired. Would welcome your feedback

Not possible to repair - the heating element has failed - no spares are available and the unit that contains it is permanently sealed.
