Casio Exilim Z40 repair?

My Casio Exilim Z40 got damaged on the front and now has a small dent about half way up, below the shutter release. The camera works correctly in every respert except that the 4-way selector button fails to function when pressed in the 6'o'clock position. Should I open it up and try to 'undent' the case(which may or may not be causing the problem) or should I leave it and live with it 'cos its a nighmare of springs, washers, valves and resistors that will fly all over the place. Any advice please......Thanks

i had same exact problem with my casio elixm z57, i opened it and undented it and everything was great for a sec, now lens wont come out (lens error) so i opened it again, couldnt see anything blocking cept a lil sand....so now im thinkin shouldve left it alone, at least i could still take pics before i 'fixed' it- lol
