How can I fix my Sony CDP-CX400 CD Player?

I have a Sony CDP-CX400 CD player. It holds 400 CD's. One got stuck and broke. I had to unload all of them and reload. Now it doesn't pick the CD I choose. The lights flash and the turntable goes round but it won't play a CD.I unplugged it and plugged it in again hoping the computer would reset. No luck.Is this fixable?

I got a used player. How do I reset all the previous programmed cd names?

I received a broken CDP-CX400 from a friend. Your problem sounds the same. One of the retreiving arms might be broken as mine was. It takes both arms to grab a cd and with one broken it will not load/play. Mine would spin and the light flashes but nothing else. I took the cover off and dissassembled the mechanism. Then epoxied and reheated the joint. It works now but the cd's can lean so it may happen again. I am not sure if you can get parts but Sony has a good website if you dig into it and you may be able to get the part. Your posting was from January so hopefully you received an answer already or receive this one. If you need more help let me know. If you want to get rid of it I could use a remote and keyboard. Good luck.
