With the Halstead 40H boiler (1985) the pilot light was always problematic for staying lit if the wind blew directly onto the balanced flu.

Was there ever a modification to improve this? The rest of the boiler remains fine.

Cleaning the pilot jet and burner, and replacing the thermocouples never resolves the problem.
