Built in De Dietrich 2011 model dishwasher. I took out the plastic white dirt filter,put it in the cutlery box and put dishwasher on boost with a tablet to try to clean the machine and the plastic filter.

Fault code D02 and some water left in bottom/not fully drained.

Could this be because I removed the dirt filter and is it likely the machine will start up if I put it on a normal cycle replacing the plastic filter

Can you hear the drain pump running when it is supposed to? If not the motor may have failed.

With the filter out is it possible to check visually for debris possibly jamming the impeller?
