Leaking Washing Machine?

How do I know what is leaking. There is no leak at the hoses. Could it be the pump? The water is coming from the front and bottom of the machine. The machine is a GE S4200. How hard is it to replace the pump?

I do not have this particular machine but I think they are all very similar. The problem is that a water leak in one place can show up in another because water will run along cables, pipes etc and then drip on to the floor.

1. I would check that your water outlet pipe (from the pump) is fully inserted into the the vertical drain pipe - and check that the drain is not blocked as sometimes the water can back fill from the drain.
2. Unplug the machine, pull it out and take off the lower back panel (by the pump). Dry the floor, and everything else and then place dry newspaper under everything. Now start the machine and see where the paper gets wet first. This is your starting point.

If it is the pump, or hose they are simple to fit. Normally just a spring holds the hoses on and a couple of wires for the pump. JUST REMEMBER TO ALWAYS UNPLUG THE MACHINE BEFORE YOU WORK ON IT.

Hope this helps.
