accenta 8 mini?

ue to extreme weather the alarm has stopped functioning correctly. There is a loud fast ticking noise from the outside box which I cannot stop even by turning off the mains. The inside panel is showing no intruder signs but the alarm is not working when the code is put in. Any suggestions. There is no light flashing outside. This noise had stopped by this morning after more bad weather but has now started again. I have not touched any of the buttons on the panel.

How do you factory reset the Accenta 8?

It looks like there is no supply to the bell box or the SCB unit has failed(anti tamper unit in bell box). Check the fuses inside the panel (should be marked bell and battery) if these are OK the chances are the SCB has failed. It is probably cheaper to replace the complete bell box, if the battery is more than three years old change that as well. Just make a sketch of what wires go where before you disconnect them.
To stop noise in bell box remove cover and disconnect or snip one off the wires going to speaker or sounder

My alarm has been sounding intermittently without being set for some time, I am waiting for an engineer to attend. The only help I can give you, is as well as turning off the main supply, you will also have to disconnect the backup battery inside the control box. While this won't solve the problem, it may stop the ticking.
