How can I fix my LG RC185 DVD/VCR Combi?

My machine copied a tape onto DVD but then would not eject the DVD and appeared to keep writing to it. Supplier refunded money to me and does not want it back, as this is apparently a common problem. All the machine does now is display 'hello'. Can it be fixed? I have emailed LG but they do not reply.

HELP, any solutions so far??? I have the same model and the same problems and nothing has helped thusfar... I am very much in the mood for a solution by now...

Same as Shabir. "HELLO" displayed, and nothing will work, DVD or VCR. DVD tray will not open. All went wrong after mistakenly inserting an American format DVD. A costly error because "The Works" sold me an American version of Trivial Pursuit!
Anybody know how I can resolve this please?

I have had the same problem and am now on my 5 lg combi in just over one year. as it is now out of warrenty I have done some investigation. It would appear to be a software problem. I have changed drives to no avail. there are several hidden menus which settings can be altered on but no-one will give me the correct settings. LG will answer my e-mails but just say take it to a repairer. I have chatted to a couple on the off. all point to corrupted software but as of yet I have not been able to source any to reload. I have been at it for a couple of months and would honestly say take it for repair, although as I have had so many fail I feel its time for me to change manufacturers
