Concord CX-70 high end car cassette-receiver. Tapes play about 2/3 or 3/4 through and reverse direction. What are possible causes for this and what can be done about it? Is this a pinch roller cleaning issue? How can pinch rollers be cleaned this such a small, confined space as a car cassette receiver?

more than likely dirt on the reel motion sensors. There may also be problems with the take up resulting in the deck changing direction as the t.u. spool gets fuller and heavier, and the drive cannot provide the necessary torque.
