Wipers on my pug 306 (V-reg/99) are sticking - work ok on normal and fast wipe but automatic wipe and manual (one wipe) they get stuck and don't park properly?

Heard this is common fault but whats the solution?

I have had the same problem on my 306 if left they will completly break down, mine lasted about 18 Months before I threw in the towel, I spoke to my local mechanic and he said "it is a common problem and normally the motor at fault" which proved to be true after replacing the motor (Peugeot price for a new one £187.00) but I sorced one on E-Bay for £40.00 and it works perfectly.

sounds like the stalk.u need to pull the wiring plug off the motor & put a multimeter or test light on it & see if you've got live & earth on intermitant wipe, that will tell you if the motors ok.i would guess at the switch though
