How can I fix my Neff gas hobb?

How can I stop the clicking sound of the ignition on my Neff gas hobb (no model number visible on cooker and no instruction book)? The gas ignites but the clicking noise doesn't switch off, it looks as though all 3 other rings are trying to ignite.

This is usually caused by a sticking control knob. Try pulling the knobs upwards to see if this helps.

I had exactly the same problem with my Diplomat gas Hobb, The technical help was worse than usless (test / replace ignition system). What I found was that the ignition is triggered by a small arm that is inderneath each gas ring control, I prized off each button and straigtened a distorted ignition trigger arm. By leaving one gas on, the clicking (that is in fact the ignition spark) should stop when the problematic putton is removed. ajust the arm and replace the gas dial button. It worked for me, tho I would suggest to ajust the trigger arm as little as possible to cure the problem (good advice for almost all components) Good luck,

the ignition switch is sticking, try spraying it with a oven cleaner/degreaser.
