in response to recent answer will try and re-pressurise but have noticed water leaking from underneath boiler and have isolated at hot water feed by turning screw head on valve coupling. Also cannot hear pump kicking in or fan. Do not know if they are all related to one fault.

There are several places where a leak can be. The double valve, pump purger, and the front section are favourite places but they are all easily repairable. It seems that the valve you are talking about could be the cold feed to the boiler this will not stop a leak on the heating part of the boiler. Which model is it. I`m local to the area
