aeg oko favorit 5040 pump stuck on? (follow up question)?

I have seen the answers supplied previously and was planning to follow the tips provided. Unfortunately I have found currently I cannot turn off the water supply.
I have applied WD-40 to the cut-off valve but in the meantime I was wondering if I could possibly use a small suction pump to remove the water which I can see in the hole at the bottom of the dishwasher or do I have to gain access to the sump itself to solve this problem ?

Sounds like you have water in the base of the machine. Does the drain pump operate when the machine is turned off on the fascia?. If so, you have an ingress from somewhere. Possibly mice chewing hoses, circulation pump leaking, or opening door mid-cycle. Turn off the power supply. Get several towells. Pull out machine and tip it to the left slowly. Not any other way cos u will muller electrics!!!!. Get water out of base and re-try, if good, good!. If not Circ pump up swanny or better. Air chamber may be blocked. Change anyway. Easy job less than £20 for part- and it is huge! brilliant value even if u didn't need it.
