What is the warning light shapped like a snow flake that is flashing?

I have a 2001 Ford Mondeo TDDI and on the dash there is a snow flake shapped light which keeps going on and off. Unfortunately I have no hand book, can anyone help? It is on the left hand side of the clocks.
