Alarm sounding without being set?

I have a sevice contract for my Accenta mini 8 alarm system. It has been checked for going off without being set. It does so only occasionally, but usually when no one is available. What I would like to know is, is there a code I can enter to temporarily stop it sounding until I can get an engineer to attend? I tried (Program 99990) which did not work. Perhaps this was the wrong combination. Could anyone help please? Charles.

Thank you Chris. They have attended but seem unable to cure as it is intermittent and they can't put their finger on the fault. The engineer is very helpful but I think lacks experience. the management suggests a new panel and siren at my expence. I am not about to consent to this. I would sooner fit my own wireless system, and have control over it. I did stop the siren by hitting the attack buttons, but when I reset, the siren went off again. I hit the attack buttons again and the siren stopped. The second time I reset, the system settled down. Some times during the day the siren will sound for a while and then stop by itself. This problem has existed for some time now, and judging by the amount of complaints I see on this site, I feel I should just consider another system. Thank you Chris for your comments.

PROG 99990 IS NOT A CODE THAT THE PANEL WILL RECOGNISE
PROG 9999 IS THE DEFAULT PROGRAMMING CODE
WHICH WILL HAVE BEEN CHANGED IF YOU HAVE A SERVICE CONTRACT
I WOULD SAY THAT IF IT GOES OF WITHOUT THE ALARM BEING SET IT IS A TAMPER FAULT OR A FAULTY PANIC BUTTON OR EVEN A BATTERY FAULT YOU MAY BE ABLE TO STOP THIS BY PRESSING PROG THAN YOUR CODE THIS HAS NOW PUT YOUR ALARM INTO TEST MODE AND SHOULD IGNORE THE FAULT BUT YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO USE THE ALARM . IF YOU HAVE A SERVICE CONTRACT WHY HAVE THEY NOT SORTED IT
