electrical circuit for hob?

We have just had a new kitchen extension built and I am not sure it electrics have been correctly installed, should the hob run on the same circuit as the sockets. I know the cooker has its own circuit.

Hi. NO hob ( except gas ignition) should ever be connected to the sockets. It should be connected to a 30amp supply, or the "cooker switch" on the wall.
