how do i start my grandfather clock?

This grandfather clock was handed down to me. It doesn't have any make or identifying tags.I dont know how to start it or if it works.Can someone please give me a clue.

Pass the pendulum through the slot in the oscillating arm at the back of the clock & hang the pendulum on the hanger several inches above the arm. Give it a bit of a wind-up by lifting the weight while pulling on a loose chain ang swing the pendulum. Make sure it has an even tisk /tock by tilting the movement or it will stop.
Or, go in an antique shop and look at one.
