MY DVD RECORDER CAN PLAY/RECORD ON HDD.
IT CAN ALSO PLAY CDR DISCS WITHOUT PROBLEMS.
BUT WHEN I PUT A DVD DISC IN IT WILL SOMETIMES RECORD FROM THE HDD TO DVD DISC BUT IT WILL NOT PLAY ANY DVD DISCS WHETHER THEY ARE BURNT ON THE PC OR ARE ORIGINAL DVD'S BOUGHT FROM THE SHOPS.
LG SAY THEY CAN FIX THE PROBLEM BY SENDING AN ENGINEER OUT BUT WOULDN'T GIVE ANY DETAILS.
AS I CAN BUY A NEW MACHINE FOR JUST OVER A HUNDRED POUNDS IS IT WORTH IT.
IS THERE ANY FIRMWARE OUT THERE THAT COULD FIX IT.

I have exactly the same problem, my unit is 20 months old.

My RH7500 has exactley the same problem Lg sent two `Repaired` replacement units & they both ended up with the same problem.
It must be a design fault ,to many with the same problem to be an isolated fault. Can you send more details because I am collecting evidence of others LG users with the same problem. I am going to try to get a replacement under consumer law (up to 6 years) even after the guarantee has run out, it should be fit for the purpose and £230 worth of DVD recorder (3 different ones) should last a lot longer than 18 months . I will be more than happy to share any information with you if you want to use the same legislation to get yours sorted.I have bookmarked this & I will check back.

Sounds like a problem with the DVD playback laser. An engineer should be able to fix it quite easily.
