How can I repair the door lock on a 1995 Ford Escort LX D?

How can I repair the manually operated driver's door lock on a 1995 Ford Escort LX D. Insert the key and it will not turn the lock to unlock the car though the key works fine in the passenger door lock and the ignition. It's as if the lock is worn out.

You could try putting in some lihgt oil eg 3 in 1 to free the barrel somtimes it works other than that you will probably have to fit a new one
