How do I diagnose the problem with my JVC DVD/VCR combo?

I bought a JVC HR-XVC25 DVD/CD/VCR/MP3 Combo Player just over 3 months back. A few days ago after a brief power outage, I noticed that the DVD player has no power to it. I don't know to diagnose the problem or any way to fix it. I would appreciate any suggestions to figure the problem out and ways to fix it. Someone said, it could be the fuse. But I don,t know where the fuse is located, what kind fuse it is, and how to replace it- if that's the problem.Thanks.

its probaly not the fuse. i had the same problem and open my machince. my capacitor was drained in the outage. i still have full vcr power but i am in the process of replacing this part. i am a budding home electronics repair man myself. and i have found this part on old dvd players at repair shops

is it plugged into a power strip?? if so try resetting the breaker on the power strip. if no power strip make sure you still have power at the plug. try a lamp or something you know that works.
