how do i change the back bearings on mark four ford escort?

Back wheels on my escort have become noisy, i presume its the bearings and need to know how to change them

pretty easy. Remove hub, knock out seal and old bearings using brass drift. Replace. Now the problem is finding the right torque setting if you aint got a manual! I tighten them up well (without too much force to cause obvious damage) then back off the nut about half a turn. i WOULD LIKE THE PROPER SETTING TOO.

My son jus had the same problem and finally had to order new hub assembles from the FORD dealership...about $200.00
