Do I have to have a new boiler?

I have a 12 year old Kingfisher floor standing gasboiler. I am told that to cure the banging noise that I get, I need a new pump. However I am also told that the EU regulations say that a new pump cannot be fitted to this boiler and that I will therefore have to have a new boiler. True or not ture-please?

rubbish. you only need a new boiler if that one packs up altogether and can't get the spares.
the fault could be the pump, or sludge build up, or the stat faulty,
check your pump speed see what its set to 1, 2, 3, ?
if its on 2 turn it to 3.
also check the stat on the front of the boiler to see its not set to max.

as for parts on this boiler are still available, we do a lot of work on them.
so don't get fobbed off into a new boiler.
