When i switch my navman icn 320 on it comes up with "waiting for gps" message then does nothing.Can you please advise

This Seems To Be A Common Problem With The Navman icn320 - I Have One, Sometimes It Works Well, Other Times Not At All, And Always Related To Not Receiving The Correct Satellite Signal.
I Think The Answer Seems To Be To Purchase The External Antenna Kit To Get A Better "lock".
Has Anybody Tried The External Antenna?

take the sat nav outside so you can see the sky ( i.e nothing to block the signal ) and switch it on. make sure the little flap on the back is out all the way and wait a couple of minutes. There is no reason why the sat nav wont find the gps unless there is a fault with it !!
