Hi

My sisters friend has asked if I can have a look at the above portable dvd player as its not working & out of warranty, The player wont power up, all it does when switched on is repeatedly flash white lines across the screen, it also wont spin the dvd up.

Any ideas? Ive had a little search on the net & I gather its not the greatest made portable dvd player out there but is it fixable?

Hi there, the problem is with the laser pickup assembly. Most likely not properly connected, had a similar problem with an Hitachi one recently, once properly connected, everything worked well once more. On another note, can anyone identify the part number and/or compatibles for the optical pickup?
