Hi, my computer is new. It's a dell. Well all of a sudden, the mic on my comp stopped recording. It's plugged into the right socket in the back and everything. I went onto the sound recording and it won't record my voice but when i pop in a CD and let it play and press record, it will record the CD. How can I fix it to where it can record my voice?

how do i fix my mic, i went to hardware toubleshooting voice record and did not pick up my voice i cant hear my voice on the computer it use to work a few weeks ago

Find your Volume Control.
Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment.

In the menu, select Options > Properties.

Check Recording (not Playback)

The volume control will switch to give you control over what you can record (rather than normally controlling what you are playing.)

Select Mic and adjust the Mic's volume (sensitivity.)
