My whirlpool does not spin or drain. It will fill, agitate then when it goes into the drain cycle it does nothing. When I try to put it into the spin it does nothing too. How do I get it to work?

It agitates and at this time is sitting with water in it. I am giving a neighborhood party tonight and hope it does not stink. Also, how (if needed) do I drain it to fix it? My washer is a Whirlpool Gold, Ultimate Care II, GS09669LGO ser#CPO506841

I have the exact same problem. I will remove and inspect the pump tonight for anything blocking the outlet. Did you get your washer running?

Your problem doesn't sound right for just one problem. The lid switch will stop in from spinning if all the s/w is there you can put a pen down on the sw to start the spin. But the water pump is on the back side of the motor and when the motor run clock wise to spin the water pumps out. Check the drain hose for a kink in it.
