Can I run a Worcester 278CDi for hot water with Central Heating Drained?

I have drained my central heating for decoratinf and would like to know if it is still safe to run the boiler for hot water.

Many thanks I suspected as much but it's good to get it confirmed.

no, cos you need the c/h water or it will over heat. when you stop running hot water, the boiler displaces the excess heat through the radiators so the boiler doesnt overheat.
