how can i repair a chewed portion of video tape?

I think myVCR is eating videos. I inserted 2 different tapes and the played for 2-3 seconds and stopped. When I pushed eject I had to disentangle the pulled out tape from the machine and the excess tape was all wrinkled. I would like to fix the tape and the VCR. Can you help?

You don't mention the brand of VCR and without that info, it is a guess as to what is wrong. There are many different mechanisms in VCR's and each has their hiccups. Until that is fixed, expect more chomp-ups.

You could cut out the damaged part you will have to get some splicing tape for VHS tape. Or try this website. http://www.videotaperepairs.co.uk/
There is a hole underneath the the cassette towards the back. If you stick a ball point pen in it, it will allow you to pull more tape out.
Hope this helps.
