Why do I loose all my E-mails in my inbox??

For no apparent reason and at it seems at no fixed time interval
all of the E-mails in the inbox are wiped clear.I am using Windows 98 and my ISP is Tiscali using the daytime option.
The stored E-mails in the sent box stay until I delete them.
Any ideas it starting to drive me mad.Computer is 7yrs old COMPAQ Presario with a CHAINTECH motherboard.

Hi Derek,

If you are using MS Outlook as your mail client, there is a setting that deletes all messages from inbox after it has downloaded them from the mail server!

If so, turn it off!
