Do I need a new gearbox - Ford Fiesta Si - R Reg?

I have a knocking sound when I start slowing down. Also the gear stick vibrates when the knocking sound starts. Is it my gear box?

i had a similar problem with my focus, a gearbox specialist told me that a gear tooth probably broke or got bruised during a bad gear change, it is not a job for a diyer, most mechanics would refer you to a specialist or suggest a reconditioned box.
