fridge not cold enough even when thermostat is set to 5,what is the cause? model hma28cx.to my knowledge the problem has always been since it was brand new.thank you for your time

I recently had the same problem with my 10 year old Candy Fridge freezer - food eg milk etc was going off quickly - An engineer came round and told me the compressor was faulty - (When I searched the net after this was backed up elsewhere from the symptoms ) - he said a new one would have been about £130(!) so i have decided to get a new Fridge Freezer.
I don't think it's a DIY repair unfortunately - another possibly but less likely is the thermostat control.
