Hi
I had a yse8 (it is nearly the same) and it only started cold, never when it was warm. It was after a total rebuilding of motor i found out that the top regulator in the dieselpump fastned to the governor arm had to be total closed for to start warm. When the motor got warm the metal expanding in the governor arm changed the tolerence enough to never start warm. You have to lose the governor arm from the topregulator on diesel pump and then with a screwdriver close the regulator totally. Fasten the arm again and it starts .

Same problem when it's cold out. I use WD-40, and it helps a lot. I've read that's a lot safer than ether.

I have the same problem. I have replaced the injection pump! A lot of the problem comes from a poorly designed governor adjustment! It is almost impossible to set the governor properly because there is only a few turns of a screw to go from idle to full out!

You should never use easy start because it burns the carbon off the piston crown and drops the compression. Once started does the smoke run clean or does it run black white or blue? How is the compression? can you do a test? It should be 350 to 550 psi, all cylinders should be within 10 percent of each other. The only possible cure is to try to coke it up again by starting the engine and run it at low revs occasionally blipping it for a very long time to try to build up some carbon.
