hi...
it is possible to remove the drum in most washing machines and indeed bra wires are a common problem (i had this problem myself... my girlfriends bra not mine!)
however, unless you are mechanically minded i would advice against it. if you do attempt it be aware of very dangerous exposed electricity circuits inside and capacitors which hold large amouts of electrical charge. also water and electric dont mix well if your repair is not up to scratch.
that said heres how...(i am not a professional washing machine repairer and assume no responsibility)
turn off power and remove plug. leave machine for half hour.
remove top cover
remove back cover
tag and catalog wires that will need to be removed when you slide the drum out and note where they connect to. some wires will be the same colour so tag them carefully.
open drum retaining ring
remove clear of machine
break seal on drum by pulling on drum
the drum wont come right out so with the machine door open pull the drum enough to get your hand in the front to grab the bra wire.
(you may have to remove the door seal from the drum. this is seal explanitory when you see the seal)
when replacing the drum ensure that the heating element has popped back into is holding clips inside or the drum wont go home properly.
now basically work backwards to that of removal noting to spend time to get the rubber seal at the back of the drum to sit nicely as you replace the securing ring. the ring has to be tight to prevant leaking.this is tricky and will take a few attempts.
run the machine to see if it leaks with heavy load of washing.
if it leaks the drum security ring is too loose or the rear drum seal is not fitted correctly.
in this case, remove plug and wait half an hour before making your repair.
running a machine with sides and top is dangerous because of
moving parts and electric. this makes it beyond most diy ers capabilities.
money well spent is to have a proffessional do the work.
