i had that, unplugged, removed all the draws, exposed the defrosting pipes which had loads of ice, defrosted them with hairdrier, removed the melting ice blocks, wrapped a coil of exposed copper wire taken from old thick electrical wire around these pipes near the drain plug, put the end of the wire in the drain plug. this is to defrost the hole in the drain plug, i let the wires go down a lot, into the collecting tray at the back.
at the back remove and clean collecting tray.
when all done. dry off with hair dryer, and put back to gether. it has been ok for 5/6 months ever since i di dthis.

This tip saved me £50 for avoided engineer visit or £500 for new appliance-very grateful as currently I'm not working !

I had the same issue of leaking water and ice at the very bottom and found My tray (above the motor)was full of water mould and lots of nasties. So I'd check the tray, remove the pipe and swill with hot water. Also give the tray and pipe mounting a good clean. Replace and try that! if you have a leaky FFA91! before any engineer is called! Its 2 Phillips screws no rocket science required!

Mine does the same. An engineer came out to look at my washer and I asked if he could advise me on the fridge. He said if the pipe is not blocked up it will more than likely be an insulation issue and is not repairable.

In the bottom of the unit at the rear is a tray which sits over the motor. It appears to be there to evaporate the excess water, but over time gets blocked. By removing 2 screws it can be carefully removed. The pipe just pulls out. I gave mine a clean, refitted and so far no more puddles.

The PCB module may be faulty, hence freezing up and defrosting incorrectly. We had similar issue and engineer came and replace with latest PCB modules (Ours is FFA91G and replaced with FFA91T). Apparently, the defrost timing is longer on newer model so this resolve the problem immediately. Downside is the Module itself cost 80 pounds.
