Citroen Saxo VTS alarm keeps going off?

I have just fitted a new battery to my Citroen Saxo VTS. After a few seconds the alarm goes off, I can turn the ignition key and start the engine but the alarm keeps sounding. The only way I can stop it is to disconnect the battery again.

right there is only one way to do this pop open you bonett and disconect the alarm. And to stop the lights flashing. near the batery there is a fuse box open it up and you should find a green block just take it off but keep it somwhere safe as you might need it at some point thats the only way i know

I have the same problem, with the alarm going off all the time if the batteries connected. I have no booklets or instructions whatsoever, how do I even go about 'simply' setting and disarming the alarm? I have a SAXO vts 96 PLATE. I spoke to a car electrician an was told it would more likely be a switch that you press while turning on the ignition, situated either below the steering wheel somewhere, or maybe in the engine compartment. I can't see one anywhere, is it this switch your talking about when you say setting and disarming the alarm? A swift reply would be much appreciated. thanx

close all doors, with key in hand take positive off battery for bout 10 secondsreconnect and indicators should flash, then simply set alarm and disarm open the door and voila
