broken springs in recliner?

I would really like to know where I can find replacement springs for my Lane Barcalounger Recliner. My brother can fix it but we just can't find springs strong enough, please help.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I am also in search of those clips. I am going to try using 1/4 inch copper tube to repair mine. I'll slide it over both parts of the spring then crimp. I wonder if filling it with silver solder would help too? Not that it would weld it but it could fill in the voids. Hmmmm.

There seems to be easy way to repair a broken spring. There are a few "cylindrical crimps" that appear to be used to connect sections of long springs together in the recliner sofa I have. I think its a Berkley.

With a special tool that grabs the two spring ends, this tool can crimp the part over the two spring halves to connect them permanently. We have tried to get a hold of these and folks are not being cooperative.

Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

thanks!

Bob
