My upvc door has a 5 point lock. The handle must be pulled up severely to lock the door with the key. Can the door be adjusted? Our new front door, you just flick up the handle to engage the locks, then turn the key.

I had a similar problem which a light application of 3 in 1 oil (on metal parts only) solved and now the handle only needs a light touch to lock the door.

yes it can be adjusted but best ask a professional, in case something else is making it jam , good companys have insurance for if it breaks ,

try adjusting the hinges but dont force the handles to often or you might damage the lock . A good locksmith could have it working ok for £45.00 . A new lock could cost £80.00+ plus fitting
