The back of my Recliner/rocker chair rocks too far back?

I have a recliner chair that is also a rocker that is about 3 years old. When I sit in the chair and lean back in the chair, the back of the chair go back too far into the recline position without using the handle on the side of the chair. I just want to sit in the chair without the back of the chair rocking all the way back almost in a laying position.

I put a 2x4 board under the back part of the feet and this corrected the problem.

Did you ever get a repair suggestion for your chair? Mine does the same thing. I asked someone at a lazyboy store in Houston. She said they have a lifetime guarantee and that I should bring it in and let them look at it. It's 50 miles away so I haven't done it yet. I was hoping that there was some adjustment mechanism somewhere. Let me know, please if you find some info. kensterfly at yahoo dot com.
